6. Organics in hydrothermal fluids from ultramafic-hosted vents of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge
Sammanfattning : The process of serpentinization at slow spreading ridges is due to the circulation of seawater through outcropping mantle rocks. The peridotites of the mantle are altered via fluid-rock interaction generating, in the presence of Fe bearing minerals, high CH4- and H2-concentrations in the water column. LÄS MER
7. SOX transcription factors : multifaceted regulators of central nervous system development
Sammanfattning : The central nervous system (CNS) is composed of three major cell types, namely neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes that are mainly generated during embryonic stages by multipotent neural progenitor cells (NPCs). The decision of a NPC to remain in a self-renewing, undifferentiated state, or to commit to neuronal or glial differentiation is guided by the combined actions of transcription factors on their downstream target genes. 8. Modélisation théorique de la spectroscopie d'actinides des solvatés
Sammanfattning : The framework of this PhD is the interpretation of Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation Dispersion experiments performed on solvated U4+, NpO2+ and PuO22+, which all have an f2 configuration. Unexpectedly the two actinyl ions have a much higher relaxivity than U4+. LÄS MER
9. Origin of organic compounds in fluids from ultramafic-hosted hydrothermal vents of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge
Sammanfattning : Natural gas, primarily methane (CH4), is produced in substantial amounts in ultramafic-hosted hydrothermal systems. These systems could also generate oil (heavier hydrocarbons) and the first building blocks of life (prebiotic molecules). In the presence of iron bearing minerals, serpentinisation reactions generate H2. LÄS MER
10. Memory Distortions Induced by Fluency : Behavioural and Electrophysiological Investigations
Sammanfattning : The investigation of memory distortions provides insights into how memory normally works. Adopting a cognitive neuroscience perspective, the present thesis aimed at investigating memory distortions and the neural correlates of processes contributing to successful control of memory interference in healthy participants.
