  1. 6. On the bone response to different implant textures. A 3D analysis of roughness, wavelength and surface pattern of experimental implants

    Författare :Carin Hallgren Höstner; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surface modification; surface texture; roughness; surface evaluation; in vivo studies.;

    Sammanfattning : PurposeThe purpose of the present thesis was to investigate the bone response to different isotropic, anisotropic and organised surface patterns.Material and methodsImplant surfaces have been modified with different techniques (abrasive blasting, turning, milling, photolithography or laser ablation). 2. 7. Design and optimization of parallel haptic devices : Design methodology and experimental evaluation

    Författare :Suleman Khan; Kjell Andersson; Jan Wikander; Ölvander Johan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical simulation; 6-DOF haptic devices; design methodology.; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The simulation of surgical procedures, in the case of hard tissues such as bone or teeth milling, using a haptic milling surgery simulator requires a haptic device which can provide high stiffness and transparency. To mimic a real milling process of hard tissue, such as for example creating a narrow channel or cavity, the simulator needs to provide force/torque feedback in 5–6 degrees of freedom (DOF). LÄS MER

  3. 8. Model-based design of haptic devices

    Författare :Ahmad Aftab; Kjell Andersson; Ulf Sellgren; Per Wennhage; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Haptic device; model-based design; stiffness; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Efficient engineering design and development of high precision and reliable surgical simulators, like haptic devices for surgical training benefits from model-based and simulation driven design. The complexity of the design space, multi-domains, multicriteria requirements and multi-physics character of the behavior of such a product ask for a model based systematic approach for creating and validating compact and computationally efficient simulation models to be used for the design process. 4. 9. On Clinical and Mechanical Aspects in Implant Supported Screw Retained Multi-unit CAD-CAM Metal Framework

    Författare :Marco Toia; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Conventionally casted frameworks have been considered the preferredsolutions for complete and partial restorations since the beginningof implantology. However, following technological development, thecomputer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM)with milling the frameworks has been introduced as an alternativeoption with the potential of minimising inaccuracies, reducing theoperator dependence and offering a homogeneous structure with highmechanical properties. 5. 10. Development and application of advanced electron microscopy techniques for materials in biological systems

    Författare :Pernilla Nevsten; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multiple-unit drug; EFTEM; EELS; cyanine dye; SSAT; cryo-TEM; virus; TEM; apoptosis; SEM; AFm; α-TCP; apatite; XEDS; TEM grid; microscopy supports;

    Sammanfattning : Theoretically, electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy offer information on a scale beyond the optical microscope. However, the quality of the micrograph and the obtained information is limited by the sample preparation. LÄS MER
