31. Cognitive dysfunction : Assessed by Questionnaires in a Population Sample and in Patients with Affective or Anxiety Disorders Before, During and After Treatment
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis was to study the Swedish versions of the Dysfunctional Attitude Scale (DAS) and the Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ) regarding their psychometric properties and to investigate their place in the cognitive theory of psychopathology. For these purposes samples were collected of the general population and of different psychopathological groups in different stages of illness and the results were compared with clinical diagnoses according to the DSM-III-R and IV and selfand observer ratings of depression and anxiety. 34. Genetic and experimental studies of seasonal affective disorder and related phenotypes
Sammanfattning : Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a subtype of recurrent depressive or bipolar disorder, in which episodes reoccur and remit during a particular season each year. A genetic component in vulnerability to winter SAD has been suggested, and the goal of this thesis was to increase the understanding of SAD and seasonal variations in mood, by obtaining self-report assessments of related traits, examining genetic variations in genes hypothesised to influence the phenotypes in question, and to investigate effects of different photoperiods and stress in an animal model. 35. Gene-environment factors in depressive disorders with a focus on circadian genes
Sammanfattning : Depressive disorders have a multifactorial etiology, where both environmental and genetic risk factors contribute.
