  1. 1. Intraperitoneal microdialysis : technique and results

    Författare :Kjell Jansson; Lars Norgren; Carl-Henrik Nordström; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Microdialysis has recently developed from a laboratory research method of animals to a useful clinical tool to evaluate parameters suggesting tissue ischemia. It is now used in neurosurgery, plastic surgery and liver transplantation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Early detection of major surgical postoperative complications evaluated by microdialysis

    Författare :Tal Hörer; Kjell Janson; Lars Norgren; Bengt Jeppsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; aortic occlusion balloon; anastomotic leakage; glycerol; intraabdominal hypertension; intraperitoneal microdialysis; intestinal ischemia; intraabdominal metabolism; lactate pyruvate ratio; postoperative complications; ruptured abdominal aortic anerusym; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Major abdominal surgery may be followed by postoperative complications, especially in the elderly and patients with co morbidities as diabetes mellitus and obesity. Some of the most feared complications as anastomotic leakage, abdominal infections, abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) and intestinal ischemia can lead to sepsis, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) with high morbidity and mortality. 3. 3. Microdialysis as a Tool in Studies of L-Dopa and Metabolites in Malignant Melanoma and Parkinson’s Disease

    Författare :Nil Dizdar (Dizdar Segrell); Bertil Kågedal; Jan-Edvin Olsson; Christer Hansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Microdialysis; L-Dopa; Malignant Melanoma; Parkinson s Disease; in vivo; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : A model with human melanoma xenografts transplanted to athymic mice has been adopted for in vivo studies of 5-S-cysteinyldopa (an intermediate pigment metabolite), glutathione, and cysteine. L-Dopa is an intermediate metabolite in pigment formation and is also important in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, and therefore 1 have also studied the pharmacokinetics of this compound. 4. 4. Anastomotic leakage in colorectal surgery : early diagnosis and treatment with stent

    Författare :Ioannis Oikonomakis; Kjell Jansson; Tal M. Hörer; Pär Myrelid; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anastomotic leakage; colorectal cancer; intraperitoneal microdialysis; cytokines; mRNA analysis; stent;

    Sammanfattning : Every year inn Sweden more than 6000 individuals are diagnosed with colorectal cancer and more than 5000 operations are performed. Anastomotic leakage (AL) is the most dreaded complication in colorectal surgery and has a great impact on postoperative morbidity and mortality. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tryptophan-related Neurotransmission in the Brain: Disturbances Associated with Experimental Hepatic Encephalopathy

    Författare :Peter B F Bergqvist; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tetrodotoxin; serotonin; release; rat; quinolinic acid; potassium; chloroamphetamine; noradrenaline; neurotransmission; microdialysis; hepatic encephalopathy; fenfluramine; drug safety; dopamine; coma; citalopram; ammonia; calcium; brain; tryptophan; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : In the present study, L-tryptophan (TRP)-related disturbances in the brain in experimental hepatic encephalopathy (HE) were investigated. The endogenous NMDA-receptor agonist and L-TRP metabolite quinolinic acid (QUIN) has been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of HE. LÄS MER
