  1. 1. Monoaminergic modulation in spinal reflex pathways from group I afferents

    Författare :Ingela Hammar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :primary afferents; spinal interneurones; ventral spinocerebellar tract neurones; noradrenaline; serotonin; cat;

    Sammanfattning : Serotonin and noradrenaline are known to play an important part in modulation of spinal neuronal networks. Group I muscle afferents mediate information on dynamic changes of muscle length and tension, and modulation of actions from these afferents could be of importance for the execution of movements. 2. 2. Platelet activation and aggregation: Clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Sukhi Singh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Platelet concentrate; Adrenaline; Noradrenaline; Ticagrelor; Platelet aggregation; Platelet activation;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and the adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-receptor antagonist ticagrelor increases the risk of bleeding complications during cardiac surgery. The overall aim of this thesis was to identify and evaluate current and potential methods to reduce and prevent bleeding complications in patients with ongoing antiplatelet therapy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Conctraction-mediating receptors in human peripheral vessels with special reference to veins and lymphatics

    Författare :Trygve Sjöberg; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human; arteries; veins; lymphatis; contraction; in vitro; in vivo; adrenergic receptors; noradrenaline; cirazoline; phenylephrine; clonidine; calcium antagonists; nifedipine; diltiazem; prostaglandins; thromboxane A2; U-46619; BM-13.505; indomethacin;

    Sammanfattning : By means of a myograph, postjunctional alpha-adrenoceptors were characterized in human superficial epigastric arteries and veins obtained from health subjects. The rank order of potency of subtype selective agonists could not be used for receptor characterization in these vessels, whereas antagonists gave distinct results. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cell signalling in cancer. A functional and immunochemical investigation of purinergic,adrenergic, nitrergic, and prostaglandin mediated signalling mechanisms in experimental and human cancer

    Författare :Gunnar Nylund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :adenosine-5´-triphosphate; colon cancer; extracellular acidification; melanoma; ; microphysiometer; nitric oxide; noradrenaline; prostaglandin E2; sarcoma; tumour cell; metabolism; uridine-5´-triphosphate;

    Sammanfattning : Disturbed cell signalling is a hallmark of the cancer cell, being one important mechanismbehind uncontrolled cell growth. In the current study, we have investigated cancer cellsignalling with the focus on some first messenger and/or their receptors, in the murine celllines, MCG 101, and K1735-M2, and the human colon cancer cell line, HT-29. 5. 5. Blood flow and metabolism in the corpus luteum of the rat : in vivo and in vitro studies on the ovarian luteal and follicular compartment of the rat

    Författare :Mats Gåfvels; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ovary; follicle; corpus luteum; blood flow; metabolism; luteinizing hormone; noradrenaline; antidiuretic hormone;

    Sammanfattning : The ovary undergoes cyclic changes in follicular growth and luteogenesis due to the action of gonadotropins and steroids. The ovary and especially the corpus luteum has an exteremely high blood flow. There is a gap in our knowledge about the physiological role of the high blood flow of the corpus luteum. LÄS MER
