1. Aspects of Fluorescence diagnostics and photodynamic therapy of non-melanoma skin cancer
Sammanfattning : Aspects of fluorescence diagnostics and photodynamic therapy in non-melanoma skin cancer. Carin Sandberg Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Institute of Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden. LÄS MER
2. Laser diode systems for photodynamic therapy and medical diagnostics
Sammanfattning : This work concerns techniques for improvement of the coherence properties of diode lasers so that they may be used in two specific medical applications: (Interstitial) photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laser-induced fluorescence diagnostics. In the first application, spatial coherence is crucial, since the treatment light should be delivered through relatively thin optical fibers to optimize treatment and to facilitate minimally invasive treatment. 3. Protein stabilization. Some methods and mechanisms
Sammanfattning : The effect of different additives on protein stability was studied, and the basis for stabilization was investigated at molecular level. The addition of sorbitol enhanced thermal stability of hen egg white lysozyme in aqueous solution. LÄS MER
4. Integration of Molecular Biology and Morphology in Effusions with Focus on in situ Detection of Telomerase and its Components
Sammanfattning : Clinical cytology is a rapid method to detect malignancy in effusions of the serous cavities, but the morphological characteristics of the cells do not always allow diagnosis and a specific marker for malignant cells would improve the diagnostic performance. Telomerase adds telomere repeats to the chromosome ends. LÄS MER
5. Centrifugal microfluidics-based point of care diagnostics at resource limited settings
Sammanfattning : Advancements in medical diagnostics have allowed us to understand the underlying mechanism and treat the root cause for many diseases which had been causing morbidity and mortality up until this point in human history. Furthermore, many of the standard diagnostic procedures have now been transformed to provide answers at or near the point-of-care. LÄS MER
