1. Interaction studies of idiotypic and antiidiotypic antibodies at experimental tumor targeting
Sammanfattning : An increasing number of antibodies are being labeled with radionuclides for immunotargeting, but the negative side effects generated on normal tissues by the nuclide remains a significant problem. The clearing of non-tumor-targeted radiolabeled antibodies from the circulation contributes significantly to improved targeting; it has been demonstrated that anti-idiotypic antibodies can be used for this purpose. 2. One-click away from higher contrast : Improvements to peripheral clearance for same-day immunoPET in Alzheimer’s disease
Sammanfattning : The brain is a challenging target for antibody-based positron emission tomography (immunoPET) to image amyloid-beta (Aβ). Antibodies detect pathology with high sensitivity, but due to their size and biological half-life, they cause a high background radiation, if radiolabelled. LÄS MER
3. Essays on credit markets and banking
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four self-contained papers related to banking, credit markets and financial stability. Paper [I] presents a credit market model and finds, using an agent based modeling approach, that credit crunches have a tendency to occur; even when credit markets are almost entirely transparent in the absence of external shocks. 4. Efficient Trading in the Short-term Electricity Markets for Integration of Renewable Energy Sources : Multistage Stochastic and Agent-based Modeling Approaches for Continuous Intraday Electricity Market
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the role of different short-term electricity market design aspects that can facilitate better coordination of resources within the power system. The work also emphasizes on better cross-border integration of the short-term markets to improve the market liquidity, competition, social welfare, and flexibility in the system, which is essential for facilitating the integration of renewable sources. 5. Investigations of chemical and enzymatic functionalization of affinity proteins
Sammanfattning : AbstractAffinity proteins are important reagents in research, diagnostics and therapeutic settings. The focus of this thesis has been on investigating different chemical and enzymatic strategies for engineering of affinity proteins to generate affinity reagents with improved or changed functionality.
