  1. 1. Embodied simulation as off-line representation

    Författare :Henrik Svensson; Tom Ziemke; Germund Hesslow; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Embodied cognition; Simulation theories; Emulation; Forward models; Perception; Action; Cognitive science; Kognitionsvetenskap; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis argues that a key to understanding the embodiment of cognition is the “sharing” of neural mechanisms between sensorimotor processes and higher-level cognitive processes as described by simulation theories. Simulation theories explain higher-level cognition as (partial) simulations or emulations of sensorimotor processes through the re-activation of neural circuitry also active in bodily perception, action, and emotion. 2. 2. Simulations

    Författare :Henrik Svensson; Tom Ziemke; Serge Thill; Anthony Morse; Keith Downing; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with explanations of embodied cognition as internal simulation. The hypothesis is that several cognitive processes can be explained in terms of predictive chains of simulated perceptions and actions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Det flexibla arbetets villkor - om självförvaltandets kompetens

    Författare :Marika Hanson; Tom Hagström; Lennart Svensson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; kompetens; flexibilitet; lärande; arbetsvillkor; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : New conditions for work, involving demands for quick adjustment and increased flexibility, have underpinned a discourse of work-based and lifelong learning in which continuous competence development is often viewed as beneficial for both the organisation and the employees. These flexible work arrangements rely heavily on the individual’s capacity of organising and structuring her own work and performance, and the thesis addresses the question of the individual’s ability to adapt to and handle these flexible work conditions. 5. 5. Stochastic epidemic models in heterogeneous communities

    Författare :David Lindenstrand; Tom Britton; Åke Svensson; Denis Mollison; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical Statistics; matematisk statistik;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of Paper I is to explain where randomness should be taken into account when modelling epidemic spread, i.e. when a stochastic model is preferable to a deterministic counterpart. LÄS MER
