  1. 1. Seismic imaging of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits : From legacy to innovative surveys

    Författare :George A. Donoso; Alireza Malehmir; Beatriz Benjumea; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Seismic imaging; 3D seismic; Data processing; volcanogenic massive sulphides;

    Sammanfattning : The volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits at the Neves-Corvo mine area, part of the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Portugal, were studied using seismic methods.  Three distinct reflection seismic datasets were used in this study: a 2D legacy data from 1996, an innovative 2019 surface and in-mine acquisition, and a 2011 3D seismic survey. 2. 2. 3D structural framework and constraints on the timing of hydrothermal alteration and ore formation at the Falun Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Författare :Tobias Christoph Kampmann; Pietari Skyttä; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, situated in the Palaeoproterozoic (1.9–1.8 Ga) Bergslagen lithotectonic unit in the south-western part of the Fennoscandian Shield, is one of the major base and minor precious metal sulphide deposits in Sweden. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Reflection seismic investigation in the Skellefte ore district : A basis for 3D/4D geological modeling

    Författare :Mahdieh Dehghannejad; Christopher Juhlin; Ari Tryggvason; Charles Hurich; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Skellefte district; reflection seismic; mineral exploration; 3D 4D modeling; mineralization; faults and shear zones; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Skellefte ore district in northern Sweden is a Palaeoproterozoic volcanic arc and one of the most important ones hosting volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits, producing mainly base metals and orogenic gold deposits. Due to high metal prices and increased difficulties in finding shallow deposits, the exploration for and exploitation of mineral resources is quickly being moved to greater depths. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Studies of Volcanic Plumes with Spectroscopic Remote Sensing Techniques

    Författare :Santiago Arellano; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Remote Sensing; FTIR; DOAS; Volcanic gas emissions;

    Sammanfattning : Volcanism is a widespread phenomenon on Earth and other planetary bodies. Terrestrial volcanoes are shallow manifestations of deep and complex mechanisms of heat and mass transport and play an important role in the formation and change of the atmosphere and the natural landscape. 5. 5. Structural and sedimentological reconstruction of the inverted Vargfors basin : a base for 4D-modelling

    Författare :Tobias Bauer; Peter Sorjonen-Ward; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Palaeoproterozoic Skellefte mining district in northern Sweden covers an area of 120 by 30 km and is one of the most important mining districts in Europe, producing mainly Zn, Cu, Pb, As and Au from volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) and orogenic gold deposits.Detailed mapping of structures and stratigraphy within the sedimentary Vargfors Group combined with a structural analysis revealed a syn-extensional fault pattern of NW-SE-trending normal faults and associated NE-SW-trending transfer faults, creating the segmented sedimentary Vargfors basin.
