31. Cryptogenic Polyneuropathy : Clinical, Environmental, And Genetic Studies
Sammanfattning : Objectives: The purpose of this medical thesis was to describe the clinical and neurophysiological features and to evaluate the health related quality of life (HR-QoL) in patients with cryptogenic polyneuropathy. We also wanted to investigate different occupational, and leisure time exposures as determinants for cryptogenic polyneuropathy, and to analyze whether polymorphisms for the null alleles of Glutathione S-Transferase Mu-1 (GSTM1), and Theta-1 (GSTT1), and a low activity genetic variation of epoxide hydrolase (EPHX) affect the risk of developing polyneuropathy. 32. TV holography and shearography in experimental mechanics
Sammanfattning : TV holography is an optical non-contacting whole field technique to measure deformation. Names as ESPI or Electronic speckle pattern interferometry, Electro-optic holography and Electronic holography are commonly used for this real-time video based interferometric technique. Shearography has become an important tool in non destructive testing. LÄS MER
33. Cochlear mechanics : design and application of superresolution techniques in the cochlear apex
Sammanfattning : Hearing is one of the five traditional senses. Next to vision it is probably the most important for man and plays a crucial role in day-to-day communication. However, hearing is extremely challenged by modern life style, due to increasing noise exposure and aging societies. Ten percent of the world population is estimated to be hearing impaired. LÄS MER
34. Numerical modeling of train-induced ground vibrations
Sammanfattning : The population is growing, and an increasing proportion of the population live in urban areas. As a consequence, human exposure to noise and vibrations is increasing. Larger and denser cities lead to a higher amount of traffic close to where people work and live. LÄS MER
35. Advanced technology in the evaluation of chronic neck impairment
Sammanfattning : An electrogoniometrical method was modified for clinical motion analysis of the head and neck. Simultaneous measurements of neck motion range and motion pattern in the three planes could be obtained, and a graphical illustration of the movements was possible. The equipment showed high reliability and validity. LÄS MER
