  1. 31. Multiscale Modeling of Molecular Sieving in LTA-type Zeolites : From the Quantum Level to the Macroscopic

    Författare :Amber Mace; Laaksonen Aatto; Tina Düren; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO2 separation; carbon capture; kinetic sieving; Zeolite A; Zeolite NaKA; cation exchange; temporal coarse graining; Kinetic Monte Carlo; Molecular Dynamics; AIMD; DFT; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : LTA-type zeolites with narrow window apertures coinciding with the approximate size of small gaseous molecules such as CO2 and N2 are interesting candidates for adsorbents with swing adsorption technologies due to their molecular sieving capabilities and otherwise attractive properties. These sieving capabilities are dependent on the energy barriers of diffusion between the zeolite pores, which can be fine-tuned by altering the framework composition. LÄS MER

  2. 32. The Lagrangian Stochastic Advective-Reactive Approach to Modeling Solute Transport in Hydrological Systems

    Författare :Archana Gupta; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :solute transport; groundwater transport; unsaturated zone; stream hydrology; stream networks; stochastic processes; mass transfer kinetics; preferential flow; temporal moments; catchment hydrology; Lagrangian transport model;

    Sammanfattning : The Lagrangian stochastic advective-reactive modelingapproach has been used for analyzing transport of bothnonreactive and reactive solutes in different hydrologicalsystems (structured soil, groundwater, mining waste rockdeposits and surface waters including single stream and networkof streams) and at different spatio-temporal scales (rangingfrom laboratory column-scale to catchment-scale). Further, afirst step has been taken to extending the Lagrangianstochastic advective-reactive modeling methodology to integratethe soil-groundwater-stream transport through a catchment. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Object Instance Detection and Dynamics Modeling in a Long-Term Mobile Robot Context

    Författare :Nils Bore; John Folkesson; Joydeep Biswas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; long-term; mapping; tracking; unsupervised learning; estimation; object modeling; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : In the last years, simple service robots such as autonomous vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers have become commercially available and increasingly common. The next generation of service robots should perform more advanced tasks, such as to clean up objects. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Model-based Analysis of Temporal Patterns in Atrioventricular Node Conduction During Atrial Fibrillation

    Författare :Mattias Karlsson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Atrial fibrillation AF ; Atrioventricular node; Mathematical modeling; Genetic algorithm GA ;

    Sammanfattning : The lifetime risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF) is estimated to be between 1in 3 to 1 in 4 individuals, making it the most common arrhythmia in the world.For persistent AF, rate control drugs with the purpose to affect the conduction properties of the atrioventricular (AV) node are the most common treatment. 5. 35. Fundamental research on supercritical fluid extraction kinetics : From on-line measurements to inverse modeling

    Författare :Victor Abrahamsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supercritical fluid extraction; supercritical fluid chromatography; linseed; microalgae; extraction kinetics; inverse modeling; curve resolution;

    Sammanfattning : Supercritical fluid extraction is an extraction technique suitable for lipophilic compounds from solid samples. Most commonly supercritical carbon dioxide is the main component in the extraction phase, rendering the technique relatively environmentally benign. LÄS MER
