  1. 16. Norbornadienes for molecular solar thermal energy storage

    Författare :Maria Quant; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; energy storage; solar energy; norbornadiene - quadricyclane photo switches; synthesis of norbornadienes.;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decade, there has been great scientific progress in terms of harvesting solar energy but the area of storing energy is still facing challenges. One approach to store solar energy is via photoinduced isomerization of chemical bonds, referred to as molecular solar thermal energy storage (MOST). LÄS MER

  2. 17. Improved Self-Consumption of Photovoltaic Electricity in Buildings : Storage, Curtailment and Grid Simulations

    Författare :Rasmus Luthander; Joakim Widén; Joakim Munkhammar; Ewa Wäckelgård; Nicholas Etherden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Photovoltaics; Solar energy; Self-consumption; Grid integration; Distributed generation; Energy storage; Curtailment; Power system; Engineering Science with specialization in Solid State Physics; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The global market for photovoltaics (PV) has increased rapidly: during 2014, 44 times more was installed than in 2004, partly due to a price reduction of 60-70% during the same time period. Economic support schemes that were needed to make PV competitive on the electricity market have gradually decreased and self-consumption of PV electricity is becoming more interesting internationally from an economic perspective. 3. 18. Decentralization in energy systems - Low-carbon technologies and sector coupling on the household, community and city scales

    Författare :Verena Heinisch; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Prosumers; Energy system flexibility; Decentralization; Energy community; Smart city; Sector coupling; Electric vehicles; Energy systems modeling;

    Sammanfattning : The number of installations of distributed energy technologies, such as solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery systems, has increased dramatically in recent decades. The required transition towards a decarbonized energy system entails electrification of the different sectors. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Winter Road Maintenance using Renewable Thermal Energy

    Författare :Josef Johnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydronic pavements; borehole thermal energy storage; winter road maintenance; BRIDGESIM; numerical simulations; BTES; renewable energy;

    Sammanfattning : Winter road maintenance is costly but it is inevitable since it is necessary to keep roads accessible and safe during winter. Current winter road maintenance methods use annually 600 000 tons of salt, in the Nordic countries. The salt ends up in the environment along the roads and results in environmental challenges. 5. 20. Public intermediaries in the energy transition - A study of municipal energy advisors in Sweden

    Författare :Lisa Bastås; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy advising; public; intermediaries; solar photovoltaic; private; energy; Sweden; transitions; sustainability;

    Sammanfattning : To mitigate climate change, a transition toward more sustainable energy production and consumption is crucial. In particular, this requires widespread adoption of renewable electricity technologies, such as solar photovoltaics (PV). As the adoption of such technologies can be challenging for new adopters, support actors such as intermediaries (i.e. LÄS MER
