  1. 16. Ground Improvement by Dry Deep Mixing Lime-Cement Column Panels as Excavation Support

    Författare :Razvan Ignat; Stefan Larsson; Sadek Baker; Sven Liedberg; Masaki Kitazume; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Many urban areas near the coastal regions of Sweden are characterized by post-glacial clay deposits with very low undrained shear strength and high compressibility. Column type ground improvement by the Deep Mixing, DM, method using a binder mixture of lime and cement is commonly used in areas with poor soil conditions due to its cost-effectiveness, predominantly for settlement reduction and to improve the stability of embankments. 2. 17. Coastal livelihoods : A study of population and land-use in Noarootsi, Estonia 1690 to 1940

    Författare :Hele Kiimann; Tom Mels; Peeter Maandi; Göran Hoppe; Ulf Jansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Noarootsi; Estonia; cartographical analysis; interdisciplinary study; soil cover change; landscape history; coastal peasants; Estonian-Swedish; feudal manor system; land reform.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates how the inhabitants formed the coastal landscape of northwest Estonia through both internal change and external impact by estate owners, provincial government and imperial decrees. Two villages on the largely Swedish populated Noarootsi peninsula, Einbi (Enby) and Kudani (Gutanäs), are examined in detail. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Strength of Stabilised Soil - A Laboratory Study on Clays and Organic Soils Stabilised with different Types of Binder

    Författare :Helen Åhnberg; Byggnadskonstruktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materiallära; Material technology; Hållfasthet; Geoteknik; Stabiliserad jord; materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Stabilisation of soft soils by deep mixing with binders is the most frequently used method of ground improvement in Sweden today, and is increasingly being used internationally. The most common binders employed are cement and lime, but a variety of other binders may also be used for stabilisation of soils. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Risk Management in Tunneling Projects : Estimation and Planning

    Författare :Mohammad Mohammadi; Johan Spross; Fredrik Johansson; Stefan Larsson; Anna Kadefors; Amund Bruland; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cost overrun; Transport infrastructure projects; Time and cost estimation; Probabilistic approaches; Tunneling; Soil and Rock Mechanics; Jord- och bergmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Cost overruns and schedule delays are frequently observed occurrences in the construction of transport infrastructure projects. Such phenomena lead to the mismanagement of significant amounts of both public and private resources. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Design of grout curtains under dams founded on rock

    Författare :Suihan Zhang; Fredrik Johansson; Johan Funehag; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Grout curtains; Rock grouting; Dams; Erosion; Infilling materials in rock fractures; Injekteringsridåer; Berginjektering; Dammar; Erosion; Sprickfyllnadsmaterial; Soil and Rock Mechanics; Jord- och bergmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Grouting has long been implemented as a ground improvement technique to reduce the seepage through the rock mass. Grout curtains are usually constructed under dams as a barrier to prevent leakage from the reservoir. So far, the grout curtains under dams have mainly been designed by using an empirical design approach. LÄS MER
