  1. 1. Clinical and methodological aspects on perineal laceration diagnostics at childbirth

    Författare :Sofia Pihl; Marie Blomberg; Eva Uustal Fornell; Siw Carlfjord; Pepe Salvesen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Obstetric perineal lacerations are common after vaginal birth.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: This thesis aimed to assess the impact of maternal body mass index (BMI) on pelvic floor during labor and focusing on pelvic floor function following an anal sphincter injury (OASI). Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to explore and describe how sexual life after childbirth is communicated, addressed and reflected upon among new mothers, fathers and midwives and the impact of leaving first and minor second degree tears after childbirth unsutured. Specific aims were to compare two groups of women with minor lacerations (first and second degree) after a vaginal delivery, with respect to the healing process and experience when the lacerations were sutured or left to heal spontaneously (I); to elucidate women s experience of their sexual life after childbirth (II); to describe fathers' reflections about sexual life 3-6 months after the birth of their child (III); to describe midwives reflections on counselling women at their postnatal checkups, with a special focus on sexuality (IV). 5. 5. The Swedish birth seat trial

    Författare :Li Thies-Lagergren; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Evidence for the safety of upright birth positions in relation to maternal blood loss and perineal outcomes is inconclusive. Little is known about the impact of upright positions on the use of synthetic oxytocin for augmentation of labour or whether an upright birth position in the second stage of labour can reduce the number of instrumental vaginal deliveries.
