  1. 31. SiC based field effect sensors and sensor systems for combustion control applications

    Författare :Mike Andersson; Anita Lloyd Spetz; Udo Weimar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SiC; Field Effect Sensors; Combustion Control; Other physics; Övrig fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing oil prices and concerns about global warming have reinforced the interest in biofuels for domestic and district heating, most commonly through combustion of solid biomass like wood logs, hog fuel and pellets. Combustion at non-optimal conditions can, however, lead to substantial emissions of noxious compounds like unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides as well as the generation of soot. 2. 32. Advanced Gasification of Biomass/Waste for Substitution of Fossil Fuels in Steel Industry Heat Treatment Furnaces

    Författare :Duleeka Gunarathne; Weihong Yang; Wlodzimierz Blasiak; Tobias Richards; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomass; Pretreatment; Gasification; Pressure drop; Steel industry; Fuel switch; Energy efficiency; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : With the current trend of CO2 mitigation in process industries, the primary goal of this thesis is to promote biomass as an energy and reduction agent source to substitute fossil sources in the steel industry. The criteria for this substitution are that the steel process retains the same function and the integrated energy efficiency is as high as possible. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Residues from biochemical production of transport biofuels in Northern Europe : combustion properties and applications

    Författare :Gunnar Eriksson; Bengt Johan Skrifvars; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Residues from biochemical production of liquid transport biofuels will probably become available for energy use if more gasoline and diesel is substituted. For processes used in northern Europe they amount to 35-65 % of the feedstock energy and despite interest from energy companies, their fuel properties are largely unknown. LÄS MER
