6. Improving Tröger's Base Chemistry : Developing the Chemistry of Tröger's base
Sammanfattning : The Tröger’s base framework has been implemented in two different receptors. The first of these receptors, incorporating two 18-crown-6 moities, was used as a host in a binding study together with a sieries of bisammonium salts that yielded different binding constants that were then used as a benchmark to compare different computational methods (Molecular Mechanics (MM) and Density Functional Theory (DFT)) in predicting the correct results where the MM methods proved more effective. 7. [11C]Carbon Monoxide in Palladium- / Selenium-Promoted Carbonylation Reactions : Synthesis of 11C-Imides, Hydrazides, Amides, Carboxylic Acids, Carboxylic Esters, Carbothioates, Ketones and Carbamoyl Compounds
Sammanfattning : [11C]Carbon monoxide in low concentrations has been used in palladium- or seleniummediated carbonylation reactions such as the synthesis of 11C-imides, hydrazides, amides, carboxylic acids, esters, carbothioates, ketones and carbamoyl compounds. In these reactions aryl iodides have been used in most cases. 8. Adding Utility to Carbon Materials: Introducing Dopants Using Highly Soluble Metal Salts and Functionalizing Surfaces via Bromomethylation
Sammanfattning : Carbon-based materials have received intense research interest over the past few decades due to their unique combination of properties including porosity, non-toxicity, chemical inertness, low density, and electrical conductivity, which has allowed them to find a wide array of applications including supercapacitors, batteries, CO2 capture, fuel cells, and catalysis. To expand their utility, a variety of techniques have been developed to enhance their reactivity and functionality. LÄS MER
9. New C-C coupling Reactions Enabled by Main-group Organometallics
Sammanfattning : The carbon-carbon bond has always been at the very core of chemical research. Strategies for the creation of C−C bonds are one of the keys to the construction game that organic chemists play with the building blocks provided by Nature, with the ultimate goal of producing useful molecular structures that will serve society as medicines, materials, imaging tools, catalysts, and ligands (to mention but a few).
