6. Methods for measurements of chlorophyll fluorescence, luminescence and photosynthesis in intact plants
Sammanfattning : Methods were developed to study delayed light emission (luminiscence) and fluorescence changes in intact leaves of plants. Delayed light emission, detected from plants in darkness, was used to produce images of the plant leaves. The procedure was termed "phytoluminography". LÄS MER
7. Development of bioluminescent reagents for kinetic analysis and some applications in clinical chemistry
Sammanfattning : Firefly luciferase and a bacterial luciferase system have been used to develop analytical methods suitable for use in clinical analysis. The influence of the level of NADH:FMN oxidoreductase on the kinetics of light emission in the bacterial luciferase system was studied. LÄS MER
8. Functional and Flexible Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells
Sammanfattning : The introduction of artificial illumination has brought extensive benefits to mankind, and during the last years we have seen a tremendous progress in this field with the introduction of the energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and the high-contrast organic LED display. These high-end technologies are, however, produced using costly and complex processes, and it is anticipated that the next big thing in the field will be the advent of a low-cost and “green” illumination technology, which can be fabricated in a cost- and material-efficient manner using non-toxic and abundant raw materials, and which features attractive form factors such as flexibility, robustness and light-weight. 9. MBE growth of Si-based heterostructures for optoelectronic applications
Sammanfattning : Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) is a powerful technique used to grow semiconductor crystalline Jayers at low (200°C - 900 °C) temperature. In this study we report on the growth of silicon-based materials used for their electronic and optical properties. Parts of the work have involved alloys of silicon (Si) with germanium (Ge) or carbon (C). LÄS MER
10. Fabrication and characterization of single luminescing quantum dots from 1D silicon nanostructures
Sammanfattning : Silicon as a mono-crystalline bulk semiconductor is today the predominant material in many integrated electronic and photovoltaic applications. This has not been the case in lighting technology, since due to its indirect bandgap nature bulk silicon is an inherently poor light emitter. LÄS MER
