21. Lipid sponge phase nanostructures as carriers for enzymes
Sammanfattning : Nonlamellar lipid liquid crystalline phases have many potential applications, such as for drug delivery, protein encapsulation or crystallization. Lipid liquid crystalline sponge phase (L3) has so far not been very much considered in these applications, in spite of apparent advantages in terms of its flexibility and capacity of forming large aqueous pores able to encapsulate large bioactive molecules. 22. Surface Modification of Cellulose by Covalent Grafting and Physical Adsorption
Sammanfattning : The interest in new environmentally friendly cellulose‐based productshas increased tremendously over the last years. At the same time theSwedish forest industry faces new challenges in its strive to increase the utilization of cellulose fibers in high‐value end‐products. LÄS MER
23. Molecular Interaction of Thin Film Photosensitive Organic Dyes on TiO2 Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The photosensitive molecule adsorption on titanium dioxide (TiO2) forms the so-called “dye sensitized TiO2” system, a typical organic/oxide heterojunction, which is of great interest in catalysis and energy applications, e.g. dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Traditionally, the transition metal complex dyes are the focus of the study. LÄS MER
24. Atomistic simulations of structural and dynamical properties of liquids under geometric constraints
Sammanfattning : The statistical-mechanical description of liquids represents a formidable problem in physic due to the absence of the analytical theory of the liquid state. Atomistic simulations represent a unique source of information in this respect and can be implemented in order address macroscopically measurable liquid properties, including its structure and dynamics, based on the information of the interactions between its constituent molecules. 25. Dynamic interactions of interfacial polymers
Sammanfattning : The relationship between the amount and conformation of apolymer at the solid-liquid interface, and the resultinginteraction forces between two such surfaces has beeninvestigated. With a degree of control of the polymerconformation, by varying the temperature, solvent quality, polymer charge density etc, it has been possible to measure andinterpret the resulting changes in the surface interactions.
