11. On various protocols for direct loading of implant-supported fixed prostheses
Sammanfattning : Backgrund: Prosthetic rehabilitation of the edentulous patient with implant-supported bridges is today a routine and predictable treatment modality. The original protocol prescribed a healing period of 3 to 6 months prior to loading which means that the total treatment time can be extensive and that the patients often need to wear removable provisional prostheses during healing and treatment. 12. On immediate/early loading of implant-supported prostheses in the maxilla
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background: The original treatment protocol for osseointegrated implants prescribed an unloaded healing period of 3 to 6 months before connection of the prosthetic superstructure. During the last years shortened healing time and rapid loading have become more frequently used. LÄS MER
13. Implant-supported restorative therapy in a Swedish population. Complications and cost evaluations
Sammanfattning : Replacing missing teeth through implant-supported restorative therapy is a common treatment procedure. While high survival rates have been reported, complications affecting the implant and/or the implant- supported reconstructions may occur. Such biological or technical complications require additional investment in treatment. LÄS MER
14. Factors affecting peri-implant tissue reactions
Sammanfattning : Screw- shaped titanium implants are today routinely used m the substitution of lost teeth. In this thesis some of the biological factors related to the long-term survival and maintenance of dental implants were studied. The first arm of these studies was to evaluate the neutrophil activation around teeth and dental implants (Papers I & II). LÄS MER
15. On cobalt-chrome frameworks in implant dentistry
Sammanfattning : Background: Cobalt-chrome (CoCr) alloys have been used in dentistry in decades but very little is known about their behavior and biological impact as framework materials in implant dentistry. Furthermore, few studies have evaluated and compared the clinical and radiological results of abutment and abutment-free implant treatment concepts. LÄS MER
