16. Developing the third generation Calphad models and descriptions: a journey from unary to higher-order systems
Sammanfattning : The third generation Calphad descriptions aim to provide more accurate computational thermodynamics for an extended temperature range, i.e. from 0 K to high temperatures. In order to achieve such a goal, new Calphad models are needed. LÄS MER
17. Fate of Cu, Cr, As and some other trace elements during combustion of recovered waste fuels
Sammanfattning : The increased use of biomass and recovered waste fuels in favor of fossil fuels for heat and power production is an important step towards a sustainable future. Combustion of waste fuels also offers several advantages over traditional landfilling, such as substantial volume reduction, detoxification of pathological wastes, and reduction of toxic leaches and greenhouse gas (methane) formation from landfills. 18. Carbides in martensitic medium carbon low alloyed tool steels studied with small angle scattering techniques, electron microscopy and atom probe tomography
Sammanfattning : Medium carbon low alloyed tool steels are used today in various areas to shape plastics, nonferrous metals, and steels, and they are crucial in the manufacturing industry. To be effective, tool steels must be strong and tough, and have high wear resistance and temperature stability. LÄS MER
19. Validation and Application of CFD to Safety-Related Phenomena in Lead-Cooled Fast Reactors
Sammanfattning : Carbon-free nuclear power production can help to relieve the increasing energy demand in the world. New generation reactors with improved safety, sustainability, reliability, economy and security are being developed. Lead-cooled fast reactor (LFR) is one of them. LÄS MER
20. An Atom-Probe Tomography Study of Phase Separation in Fe-Cr Based Steels
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels are very important engineering materials in a variety of applications such as in the food industry and nuclear power plants due to their combination of good mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance. However, ferrite-containing stainless steels are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°C embrittlement’, which is induced by phase separation of the ferrite phase, where it decomposes into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite (α').
