21. Development of strength and heat of hydration of young concrete at low temperature - influence of granulated blast furnace slag, silica and limestone
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this licentiate thesis was carried out within the project task Use of industrial by-products and filler in concrete, part Early-age strength development at low temperatures in concrete with mineral additions/fillers. To improve the understanding and to increase the data available, the study investigated the development of compressive strength and heat of hydration while curing at 5°C compared with curing at 20°C. 22. Synthesis and characterisation of thermoset-clay nanocomposites
Sammanfattning : Polymer-clay nanocomposites are materials reinforced on a molecular scale by 1 nm-thick clay layers dispersed in a polymer matrix. Thermoset-clay nanocomposites were synthesised from unsaturated polyester and epoxy resins with two different approaches. LÄS MER
23. Variables affecting stress development and resin conversion in light-cured dental composites
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this dissertation was to identify and investigate factors that can be used to minimize stress development in light cured dental resins without compromising the conversion level of the polymer. Modulus of elasticity, polymerization contraction strain, degree of conversion and shrinkage of light-cure dental composites were determined after curing with three different light power densities where total irradiated energy (J/cm2) kept constant. 24. Radiation crosslinking of cellulose fibers to obtain rigid lightweight paperboard
Sammanfattning : Cellulosic materials are used in a wide range of areas of application, and one of these is paperboard for packaging solutions. Paper or paperboard as a packaging material has benefits like low density, low costs, high stiffness, good printability, and paper is environmentally friendly. LÄS MER
25. Influence of the Processing Atmosphere on Binder Jetting of Stainless Steel: From Printing to Sintering
Sammanfattning : Binder Jetting (BJT) is considered a promising Additive Manufacutring (AM) technology for the production of complex metal components due to its high productivity and cost efficiency compared to other AM technologies. The BJT technology is a multi-step process that consists of printing, curing, depowdering, debinding and sintering. LÄS MER
