  1. 21. The elite cross-country skier : clinical and sports related functional tests, dance training, injuries and self-related health

    Författare :Marie Alricsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to study cross-country skiers regarding the effect of dance training on joint mobility and muscle flexibility of the spine, hip and ankle and on speed and agility. Another aim was to perform test-retests of joint mobility and muscle flexibility of the hip and of sports related functional tests. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Properties of snow with applications related to climate change and skiing

    Författare :Nina Lintzén; Sven Knutsson; Lars-Erik Persson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Snow has been a subject of research since the mid-20th century. Research on mechanical properties of snow started as an off-shoot of soil mechanics, where methods, tools and instruments used often are the same. However, during the last decades the winter business industry has been growing requiring a number of new fields of research. LÄS MER

  3. 23. The rolling resistances of roller skis and their effects on human performance during treadmill roller skiing

    Författare :Mats Ainegren; Peter Carlsson; Marko Laaksonen; Per Tesch; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Blood lactate; cycle length; cycle rate; heart rate; oxygen uptake; performance; power; roller skis; rolling resistance; ratings of perceived exertion; work economy; Sports; Idrott;

    Sammanfattning : Modern ski-treadmills allow cross-country skiers, biathletes and ski-orienteers to test their physical performance in a laboratory environment using classical and freestyle techniques on roller skis. For elite athletes the differences in performance between test occasions are quite small, thus emphasising the importance of knowing the roller skis’ rolling resistance coefficient, µR, in order to allow correct comparisons between the results, as well as providing the opportunity to study work economy between different athletes, test occasions and core techniques. 4. 24. Bioenergetic and Mechanical Modeling of Endurance Sports with Emphasis on Individualization

    Författare :Julius Lidar; Mikael Bäckström; Mats Ainegren; David Sundström; Dietmar Saupe; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Endurance athletes strive to improve their race times by enhancing their physical abilities, techniques, tactics, and equipment. Numerical simulations can aid in this effort by enabling repeated testing under identical conditions, thus isolating the effect of a single variable of interest on race time. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Gaussian Processes for Positioning Using Radio Signal Strength Measurements

    Författare :Yuxin Zhao; Fredrik Gunnarsson; Fredrik Gustafsson; Carsten Fritsche; Simo Särkkä; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gaussian process; positioning; radio signals;

    Sammanfattning : Estimation of unknown parameters is considered as one of the major research areas in statistical signal processing. In the most recent decades, approaches in estimation theory have become more and more attractive in practical applications. LÄS MER
