  1. 11. Influence of waxes on bitumen and asphalt concrete mixture performance

    Författare :Ylva Edwards; Ulf Isacsson; Klaus-Werner Damm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bitumen; asphalt; additives; wax in bitumen; polyphosphoric acid in bitumen; rheology; IR-spectroscopy; dynamic mechanic analysis DMA ; bending beam rheometer BBR ; literature study; low temperature physical hardening; highway materials; morphology; modified bitumens; temperature susceptibility; low temperature performance; ageing; microscopy; chromatography; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; force ductility; conventional binder tests; asphalt performance; tensile strain restrained specimen test TSRST ; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis consists of a literature review, presented in two papers, and another six papers describing experimental studies of the influence of different kinds of wax and polyphosporic acid on bitumen and asphalt concrete mixture properties. The literature review should give an extensive description of the field of knowledge concerning wax in bitumen. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Dielectric Response and Partial Discharge Diagnostics of Insulation Systems by Utilizing High Voltage Impulses

    Författare :Roya Nikjoo; Hans Edin; Andrea Cavallini; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dielectric Response; Transients; Transformer bushing; Oil-impregnated paper; Moisture content; Partial discharge; Surface PD; Cavity PD; Superimposed impulse; Nanoparticles; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, power system transients are considered as an opportunity for development of on-line diagnostics of power components and specifically the insulation systems of power transformers and bushings.A new technique for on-line dielectric response measurement of power transformer bushings is proposed which utilizes natural transients in the power system, such as lightning and switching surges, as stimuli. 3. 13. Partial Discharges at Repetitive Rapidly Changing Voltages

    Författare :Elisabeth Lindell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high dV dt; oil paper insulation.; repetitive voltages; short rise time; partial discharge measuring techniques; twisted pair; square-like voltages; corona; Partial discharges PDs ;

    Sammanfattning : Electrical insulation can today be exposed to voltages having considerably higherfrequency components than the conventional power frequency AC 50 Hz or 60 Hz,for example due to the increased use of power electronics in power systems. Thishas in a number of cases caused unexpected behaviour, including failures. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Lipids in seeds of oat (Avena spp.), a potential oil crop : content, quality, metabolism, and possibilities for improvement

    Författare :Svetlana Leonova; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : New oil crops with high yield and oil content are urgently needed. Oat is the only cereal that accumulates substantial amount of lipids in the endosperm. This gives it potential as an oil crop, which could address both nutritional and environmental concerns of modern society. LÄS MER

  5. 15. High Voltage DC-biased Oil Type Medium Frequency Transformer; A Green Solution for Series DC Wind Park Concept

    Författare :Mohammad Kharezy; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High voltage DC; Insulation design; Offshore wind farm; Leakage inductance; High power isolated DC DC converter; Dual active bridge; Medium-frequency power transformer; Parasitic capacitance; HVDC;

    Sammanfattning : The electric energy generated by remote offshore wind parks is transported to the consumers using high voltage submarine cables. On the generation site, such transmissions are realized today by collecting the energy produced by several wind turbines in a bulky and expensive transformer placed on a dedicated platform. LÄS MER
