6. Advanced BaZrO3-BaCeO3 Based Proton Conductors Used for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (ITSOFCs)
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the focus is on studying BaZrO3-BaCeO3 based proton conductors due to that they represent very promising proton conductors to be used for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (ITSOFCs). Here, dense BaZr0.5Ce0.3Y0. LÄS MER
7. Minuscular sculpturing
Sammanfattning : Most of the processes employed in microstructure technology have been adopted from the fabrication scheme of integrated circuits (IC). Although being extremely reliable and cost efficient, they suffer from poor material and geometrical flexibility. LÄS MER
8. Molecular Interactions and Dynamics in Lithium Conducting Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Lithium conducting electrolytes, suitable for battery applications, have been characterized on a molecular level using Raman spectroscopy, ab initio calculations and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, in order to better understand molecular and ionic interactions and dynamics in the systems. Three different types of electrolytes have been investigated; polymer gel electrolytes, solid polymer electrolytes and plastic crystal materials, with the main focus on the polymer based electrolytes. 9. Functional Oxide Materials exhibiting Ionic Conductivity for Future Energy Conversion Needs
Sammanfattning : Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that transform the chemical energy in hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy at high efficiencies and produce only water vapour emissions. Materials with the perovskite or fluorite structure types are commonly employed as the ion conducting ceramic electrolyte membranes in intermediate and high temperature fuel cells. LÄS MER
10. Nonstoichiometric Multicomponent Nitride Thin Films
Sammanfattning : High entropy ceramics have rapidly developed as a class of materials based on high entropy alloys; the latter being materials that contain five or more elements in near-equal proportions. Their unconventional compositions and chemical structures hold promise for achieving unprecedented combinations of mechanical, electrical and chemical properties. LÄS MER
