31. From single-cell transcriptomics to single-molecule counting
Sammanfattning : RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) technology has been progressing so fast in the last few years and made it possible to perform transcriptome analysis at single-cell level that was even unimaginable a few years before. Nowadays, the importance of gene expression analysis at the single-cell level is increasingly appreciated for the study of complex heterogeneous tissue. LÄS MER
32. Recombinant cat and mite allergens as tools in the study of diagnosis and treatment of allergy
Sammanfattning : Allergic diseases, such as allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis and atopic eczema, are a major health problem world-wide, affecting up to 30% of the population. A large proportion of the patients are allergic to indoor allergens, such as mite and cat allergens, which are airborne and thus cause symptoms in the airways upon inhalation. LÄS MER
33. Role of p21-activated kinase 4 in cell migration
Sammanfattning : Cell migration is a cellular process that plays a critical role in various physiological and pathological phenomena, including in cancer metastasis. Understanding at a fundamental level how cancer cells migrate and invade will help to delineate potential targets for the directed development of anti-metastatic therapeutic agents. LÄS MER
34. The N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit NR3A : cloning, expression and interacting proteins
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the subunit NR3A, which together with subunits NR1, NR2A-NR2D and NR3B builds the excitatory glutamate receptor N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA). The receptor is most likely a tetramer, containing at least one NR1, probably two NR2 and sometimes one NR3 subunit. LÄS MER
35. Purification of general RNA polymerase II transcription factors from mouse for studies of proliferation-specific transcription
Sammanfattning : Accurate initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II depends on general transcription factors (GTFs), which include the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and the transcription factors (TF) IIB, IIF, IIE and IIH. In order to reconstitute mouse transcription in vitro, we cloned the genes encoding mouse TFIIB, and both subunits of TFIIE and TFIIF from a mouse cDNA library. LÄS MER
