  1. 1. Isoconversional analysis for the prediction of mass-loss rates during pyrolysis of biomass

    Författare :Lina Norberg Samuelsson; Matthaus Babler; Rosana Moriana; Henrik Wiinikka; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pyrolysis; biomass; kinetics; cellulose; spruce; black-liquor; model-free; isoconversional; prediction; pyrolys; biomassa; kinetik; cellulosa; gran; svartlut; model-free; isoconversional; förutsägelse; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Biomass is the only renewable carbon source that can compete with fossil energy sources in terms of production of materials, chemicals and fuels. Biomass can be transformed into charcoal, liquid and gas through pyrolysis, i.e. pure thermal decomposition. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High temperature corrosion in a biomass-fired power boiler : Reducing furnace wall corrosion in a waste wood-fired power plant with advanced steam data

    Författare :Yousef Alipour; Pamela Henderson; Peter Szalalos; Christofer Leygraf; Jan Froitzheim; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High temperature corrosion; Waterwalls; Power plant corrosion; NOx reducing enviroments; Biomass; Waste wood; Thermodynamic calculation modelling; corrosion-resistance alloy; Furnace wall corrosion; Högtemperaturekorrosion; Eldstadsväggar; kraftverks korrosion; låg Nox mijöer; biomassa; returträ; Termodynamisk modellering; korrosionsbeständighet legering; eldstadskorrosion;

    Sammanfattning : The use of waste (or recycled) wood as a fuel in heat and power stations is becoming more widespread in Sweden (and Europe), because it is CO2 neutral with a lower cost than forest fuel. However, it is a heterogeneous fuel with a high amount of chlorine, alkali and heavy metals which causes more corrosion than fossil fuels or forest fuel. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Measurement of Self-Heating of Biomass Pellets using Isothermal Calorimetry

    Författare :Ida Larsson; Karin Granström; Anders Lönnermark; Per Blomqvist; Patrick van Hees; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; isothermal calorimetry; biomass pellets; wood pellets; self-heating; reactivity; screening test; isoterm kalorimetri; pellets; biomassa; självuppvärmning; reaktivitet; screeningtest; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Self-heating in storage facilities of biomass pellet can lead to spontaneous combustion. This has resulted in many fires over the years, causing both financial and environmental losses.In order to assess the risk for spontaneous combustion of biomass pellets during storage, it is important to know how prone the fuel is to self-heating, i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Pressurized entrained flow gasification of pulverized biomass : Experimental characterization of process performance

    Författare :Fredrik Weiland; Thomas Kolb; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (e.g. CO2), mostly connected to the use of fossil fuels, to the atmosphere have increased during the last century and there is significant evidence that this is the main reason for the recent global temperature rise. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Experimental studies of pulverised biomass combustion : Impacts on ash transformations and process temperature

    Författare :Daniel Nordgren; Christoffer Boman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Den samlade erfarenhet som finns kring användandet av rena biobränslen för produktion av värme- och kraftvärme kommer till största del från rost- och fluidbäddpannor. Pulvereldningstekniken har traditionellt sett nyttjats mest för kolbränslen, och erfarenheter av rena biobränslen i pulvereldade anläggningar är därför begränsad. LÄS MER
