  1. 1. Measurement of Self-Heating of Biomass Pellets using Isothermal Calorimetry

    Författare :Ida Larsson; Karin Granström; Anders Lönnermark; Per Blomqvist; Patrick van Hees; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; isothermal calorimetry; biomass pellets; wood pellets; self-heating; reactivity; screening test; isoterm kalorimetri; pellets; biomassa; självuppvärmning; reaktivitet; screeningtest; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Self-heating in storage facilities of biomass pellet can lead to spontaneous combustion. This has resulted in many fires over the years, causing both financial and environmental losses.In order to assess the risk for spontaneous combustion of biomass pellets during storage, it is important to know how prone the fuel is to self-heating, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Microwave Transistors for Robust Receivers and High Efficiency Transmitters

    Författare :Mattias Thorsell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; noise modeling; access resistance; self-heating; AlGaN GaN HEMT; thermal characterization; active load-pull; load modulation;

    Sammanfattning : The next generation of integrated transceiver front-ends needs both robustlow noise amplifiers and high power amplifiers on a single-chip. The AluminiumGallium Nitride / Gallium Nitride (AlGaN/GaN) High Electron MobilityTransistors (HEMT) is a suitable semiconductor technology for this purposedue to its high breakdown voltage and high electron mobility. 3. 3. Mitigating Off-Gassing and Self-Heating in Fuel Wood Pellets Storage : A Raw Materials Selection and Pre-Treatment Centred Approach

    Författare :Workson Siwale; Jonas Berghel; Gunnar Henriksson; Michael Finell; Stefan Frodeson; Mani Sudhagar; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solid biofuels; densified biomass; heat generation; off-gas emissions; carbon monoxide; carbon dioxide; methane; fatty and resin acids; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Wood pellets have become a preferred solid biomass fuel for heat and power generation due to their standardized nature, known properties, and consistent quality. However, pellets produced from fresh sawdust sometimes undergo self-heating and off-gassing during storage. This poses a challenge for their transportation and storage. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Graphene field-effect transistors and devices for advanced high-frequency applications

    Författare :Marlene Bonmann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; traps; graphene; self-heating; field-effect transistors; remote phonons; carrier transport; saturation velocity; microwave devices; impurities and defects;

    Sammanfattning : New device technologies and materials are continuously investigated, in order to increase the bandwidth of high-speed electronics, thereby extending data rate and range of applications. The 2D-material graphene, with its intrinsically extremely high charge carrier velocity, is considered as a promising new channel material for advanced high frequency field-effect transistors. 5. 5. Vertical III-V Nanowire Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors : A Circuit Perspective

    Författare :Gautham Rangasamy; Nanoelektronik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-Power Electronics; Self-Heating; Steep Slope Devices; Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors; Vertical Nanowire; III-V Semiconductors;

    Sammanfattning : The energy scaling of integrated circuits has reached its limit because the operating voltage of Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFET) based switches has reached its minimum value. MOSFETs are limited by thermionic emission and cannot achieve a subthreshold swing (SS) below 60 mV/decade at room temperature. LÄS MER
