  1. 6. Aspects of physical activity in Rheumatoid Arthritis : associations with inflammation and cardiovascular risk factors

    Författare :Kristina Hörnberg; Solveig Wållberg Jonsson; Björn Sundström; Christina Helging Opava; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; physiotherapy; rheumatoid arthritis; cardiovascular disease; aerobic capacity; physical activity; exercise; primary prevention;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD), partially attributable to systemic inflammation and traditional risk factors for CVD. Since physical activity (PA) is strongly related to CVD in the general population, the aim of this thesis was to describe aspects of PA in patients with RA, and further to analyse associations with disease activity, traditional risk factors for CVD and subclinical atherosclerosis. 2. 7. Assessment of Aerobic Capacity A Novel Rating Scale and Further Development of an Exercise Test including Analysis of Gas Exchange

    Författare :Anita Wisén; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ; Physical medicine; Time constant of V O2; Cycle ergometer; Perceived Capacity; Perceived exertion; Heart rate; Oxygen uptake; Reference values; Oxygen kinetics; Repeatability; Thresholds;

    Sammanfattning : Different methods are proposed to assess the aerobic capacity. A novel scale, rating of perceived capacity (RPC) based on metabolic equivalents (METs) from 1 to 20, is presented. Selected MET values are linked to physical activities. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Team rehabilitation and health care utilization in chronic inflammatory arthritis patients

    Författare :Sofia Hagel; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rehabilitation; rheumatoid arthritis; psoriatic arthritis; spondylarthritis; ankylosing spondylitis; multidisciplinary team; rheumatological team care; health care utilization; outcome measures; aerobic capacity; ICF; physical functioning.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study outcome and evaluation of rheumatological multidisciplinary team rehabilitation programmes in patients with chronic inflammatory arthritis (CIA); rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and other spondyloarthritides, and to analyse health care utilization over the last decade in patients with RA. In Study I the outcome of an 18 days outpatient multidisciplinary team rehabilitation programme in 174 patients with CIA was analysed. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Skeletal muscle in Restless legs syndrome (RLS) and Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS)

    Författare :Britta Wåhlin Larsson; Karin Piehl-Aulin; Fawzi Kadi; Jan Ulfberg; Carl-Johan Sundberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; RLS; OSAS; aerobic capacity; skeletal muscle fibers; capillary; VEGF; Physiology; Fysiologi; Idrottsvetenskap; Sports Science;

    Sammanfattning : Restless legs syndrome (RLS) and Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) are two sleep disorders that affect daily life with symptoms such as sleepiness and fatigue. It was therefore hypothesised that the skeletal muscle could be affected as symptoms from skeletal muscle are common. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Evaluating Swedish soldiers’ physiological demands in combat

    Författare :Jonas Larsson; Malmö Klinisk fysiologi och nuklearmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; work demands; aerobic capacity; body armor; soldiers; physical employment standards;

    Sammanfattning : Att vara soldat är väldigt fysiskt krävande, det viktigt att upprätthålla en god fysisk kapacitetsnivå för att klara sin tjänst. Vid militära operationer arbetar soldater på lägre fysiska kravnivåer under lång tid för att ibland gå upp på intensiva kravnivåer. LÄS MER
