  1. 11. Biomass Energy Systems and Resources in Tropical Tanzania

    Författare :Lugano Wilson; Weihong Yang; Wlodzimierz Blasiak; Truls Liliedahl; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tanzania; Tropical Biomass Energy; High Temperature Gasification HTAG ; Mechanical energy engineering; Mekanisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Tanzania has a characteristic developing economy, which is dependent on agricultural productivity.  About 90% of the total primary energy consumption of the country is from biomass.  Since the biomass is mostly consumed at the household level in form of wood fuel, it is marginally contributing to the commercial energy supply. 2. 12. Mathematical modeling of municipal solid waste plasma gasification in a fixed-bed melting reactor

    Författare :Qinglin Zhang; Weihong Yang; Wlodzimierz Blasiak; Halina Kruczek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mathematical modeling; plasma gasification; municipal solid waste; fixed-bed;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing yield of municipal solid waste (MSW) is one of the main by-products of modern society. Among various MSW treatment methods, plasma gasification in a fixed-bed melting reactor (PGM) is a new technology, which may provide an efficient and environmental friendly solution for problems related to MSW disposals. 3. 13. Gasification and Pyrolysis Characterization and Heat Transfer Phenomena During Thermal Conversion of Municipal Solid Waste

    Författare :Chunguang Zhou; Weihong Yang; Wlodzimierz Blasiak; Petr Stehlik; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; municipal solid waste; pyrolysis; gasification; heat transfer; CaO; CO2; reforming; numerical model; Energy Technology; Energiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The significant generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) has become a controversial global issue. Pyrolysis and gasification technologies for treating rejects from solid waste disposal sites (SWDSs), for which over 50 % of MSW is attributed to combustible species, have attracted considerable attention.
