21. Void formation and transport in manufacturing of polymer composites
Sammanfattning : In this thesis void formation and removal during the Resin Transfer Moulding process are considered. The problem is examined by doing real moulding as well as mouldings under microscope, model experiment and analytical computations. The materials utilised are in most cases glass fibre reinforcements and vinylester resins. LÄS MER
22. On the Study of a Liquid Steel Sampling Process
Sammanfattning : The liquid steel sampling method is one of the commonly used procedures in monitoring the steelmaking process. Besides it can be used for analyzing the dissolved alloys, hydrogen content and oxygen content, it can be also employed to monitor the inclusion characteristics at the steelmakings. LÄS MER
23. Modelling flow with free and rough surfaces in the vicinity of hydropower plants
Sammanfattning : Flow with free and rough surfaces near hydropower stations is of interest for both engineering and environmental applications. Here, Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations of free surface flow and flow over rough surfaces in regulated rivers were performed in applications such fish migration, spillway design and flow over rough surfaces as in hydropower tunnels or natural channels. 24. Modeling of aerodynamic particle interaction
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the current study is to investigate the effect of particle-pair interaction for various separation distances and angular positions. The results obtained are used in a particle-laden turbulent jet flows in order to improve the existing Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) models. LÄS MER
25. A Lagrangian-Eulerian simulation method for viscoelastic flows applied to adhesive joining
Sammanfattning : Viscoelastic flows are important for many industrial processes, such as adhesive joining, polymer extrusion and additive manufacturing. Numerical simulations enable virtual evaluation and product realization, which can support the design phase and reduce the amount of costly physical testing. However, such applications are challenging to simulate. LÄS MER
