36. Aspects of drinking water supply in areas of humic water
Sammanfattning : The thesis investigated several aspects that are important for drinking water supply from waters with high amounts of humic substance (humic water). The results showed that the composition of humic substances is important in their sorption to aquifer material during surface water artificial recharge through infiltration basins to groundwater. 37. Sorption of humic substances and microbial activity in the course of artificial recharge of groundwater
Sammanfattning : Sorption of humic subtances and metal-humate complexes on aquifer material taken from basins used for artificial recharge of groundwater was studied in batch scale experiments. Distribution of bacteria attached to the material from uppermost layer and from the horizons below the infiltration basin were measured in the field studies. LÄS MER
38. Characterisation of pollutants in stormwater treatment facilities
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of this thesis is to increase the knowledge of both the pollutants within stormwater treatment facilities and the maintenance of these facilities. This objective has been achieved by studying water and sediment with respect to metal concentrations, fractionation, and toxicity from ponds, sedimentation tanks, and gully pots with different catchment characteristics as well as from the sediment removal process. 39. Pathways of pollutants in stormwater systems
Sammanfattning : The choice of stormwater procedures will affect the pathways of the water and its pollutants, since different stormwater facilities reduce different types of substances and fractions to varying degrees. Traditional stormwater handling has mainly been emphasised to transport the water from the cities. LÄS MER
40. Urban Stormwater Treatment with Ultrafiltration and Pulsatile Fluid Flow
Sammanfattning : Stormwater can be a potential water resource if it is treated, and the quality meets the demand, depending on the application. Various nutrients and pollutants, for example microorganisms can enter stormwater and can vary depending on time and place, as the contaminants come from different sources. LÄS MER
