11. Dentin surface conditioning : the role of collagen in dentin bonding
Sammanfattning : Preparation of dental cavities inevitably produces a thin layer of smear, which covers dentin and enamel surfaces. This smear layer, which is between 1 and 10 gm thick, consists of hydroxyapatite, denatured collagen and remnants of cariogenic bacteria. If left untouched, it will weaken the bond between filling material and cavity wall. LÄS MER
12. On pressure-driven Hele-Shaw flow
Sammanfattning : The present licentiate thesis is devoted to the rigorous derivation of the equations governing thin-film flow of incompressible Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. More precisely, we consider flow in a generalized Hele-Shaw cell, which is a thin three-dimensional domain confined between two surfaces connected by cylindrical obstacles of various shapes. LÄS MER
13. Laser cutting and piercing: Experimental and theoretical investigation
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns experimental investigations of laser cutting and piercing, with theoretical and practical discussions of the results. The thesis is made up of an introduction to laser cutting and six scientific Papers. LÄS MER
14. Thermal conductivity of AlXGa1-XN and β-Ga2O3 semiconductors
Sammanfattning : For the high-power (HP) electronic applications the existing Si-based devices have reached the performance limits governed by the material properties. Hence the device innovation itself is unable to enhance the overall performance. LÄS MER
15. Layer Formation on Bed Particles during Fluidized Bed Combustion and Gasification of Woody Biomass
Sammanfattning : Although more than a hundred papers dealing with the agglomeration problem in combustion and gasification of biomass can be found in the literature, very few studies focusing on the bed particle layer formation process in fluidized bed combustion (FBC) and fluidized bed gasification (FBG) can be found. With increased knowledge of the bed particle layer formation process — i. LÄS MER
