6. The skin barrier : structure and physical function
Sammanfattning : The objective of the project "The skin barrier - structure and physical function" was to characterise in detail the human skin barrier structurally and functionally. The thesis work includes in-vivo studies, in-vitro studies and studies on pure model systems. LÄS MER
7. Experimental and theoretical investigation of the laser cutting process
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns experimental investigations of laser cutting with theoretical and practical discussions of the results. The thesis is made up of three papers which are linked in such a way that each of them studies a different aspect of laser cutting: In paper I the two major laser types in cutting, namely CO2 and fiber lasers, are compared to each other by a self-defined cut efficiency. 8. Multi-frequency SFDI : depth-resolved scattering models of wound healing
Sammanfattning : With optical techniques, we refer to a group of methods that use of light to perform measurements on matter. Spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI) is an optical technique that operates in the spatial frequency domain. LÄS MER
9. Novel oil resistant cellulosic materials
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study has been to prepare and characterise oil resistant cellulosic materials, ranging from model surfaces to papers and aerogels. The cellulosic materials were made oil resistant by chemical and topographic modifications, based on surface energy, surface roughness and barrier approaches. LÄS MER
10. An Analytical Solution Applied to Heat and Mass Transfer in a Vibrated Fluidised Bed Dryer
Sammanfattning : A mathematical model for the drying of particulate solids in a continuous vibrated fluidised bed dryer was developed and applied to the drying of grain wetted with a single liquid and porous particles containing multicomponent liquid mixtures. Simple equipment and material models were applied to describe the process. LÄS MER
