31. Traffic-related pollutants in urban snow : Concentrations, size fractionation, and release with snowmelt
Sammanfattning : In urban areas with seasonal snow, traffic-related pollutants such as solid particles, metals, chloride, organic pollutants, and microplastics (MPs) can be temporarily stored in snowbanks along roads and streets. When the snow melts, it releases the accumulated pollutants and the resulting snowmelt with diverse pollutants may partly infiltrate into the ground, or enter storm sewers and eventually be discharged into, and impact on, the receiving waters. 32. Evaluating the transport and composition of gully pot sediments : Under changing anthropogenic activities and rainfall regimes
Sammanfattning : Gully pots are a fundamental runoff quality and quantity control measure installed in urban catchments around the world. However, their ubiquitous use in urban catchments also incurs a substantial resource demand in terms of routine maintenance if their continuous performance is to be assured. LÄS MER
33. Uncertainties in rainfall-runoff modelling of green urban drainage systems : Measurements, data selection and model structure
Sammanfattning : Green urban drainage systems are used to avoid flooding and damages to people and property, while limiting the downstream flooding and water quality problems caused by pipe-based drainage systems. Computer models are used to analyse and predict the performance of such systems for design and operation purposes. LÄS MER
34. Hydrological modelling of green urban drainage systems : Advancing the understanding and management of uncertainties in data, model structure and objective functions
Sammanfattning : The use of green urban drainage systems such as green roofs, swales and pervious areas has in recent years become a popular option to reduce flood risk and water quality problems in a more sustainable way than with traditional pipe-based drainage systems. Computer models are valuable tools for the management of such systems. LÄS MER
35. Microbial DNA Sequencing in Environmental Studies
Sammanfattning : The field of microbial ecology has just entered a new era of rapid technological development and generation of big data. The high-throughput sequencing techniques presently available provide an opportunity to extensively inventorize the blueprints of life. LÄS MER
