  1. 11. Rare Earth Metal–Free Permanent Magnet Generators

    Författare :Petter Eklund; Sandra Eriksson; Leijon Mats; Sonja Lundmark; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Sammanfattning : Permanent magnet (PM) synchronous generators (SGs) are used in renewable energy production. The preferred PM material is neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB), which has very high performance and, until recently, low cost. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Surface gravity waves in the world’s oceans contain a renewable source of free power on the order of terawatts that has to this date not been commercially utilized. The division of Electricity at Uppsala University is developing a technology to harvest this energy. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Modelling and Experimental Verification of Direct Drive Wave Energy Conversion : Buoy-Generator Dynamics

    Författare :Mikael Eriksson; Mats Leijon; Jan Isberg; Arne Wolfbrandt; Kim Nielsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Engineering physics; Wave energy; Potential wave theory; Linear generator; Simulations; Experiments; Point absorber; FEM; Equivalent circuit theory; Teknisk fysik; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on development of models and modelling of a wave energy converter in operation. Through the thesis linear potential wave theory has been used to describe the wave-buoy interaction. The differences lie in the generator models, in the simplest model the generator is a mechanical damper characterized by a damping factor. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Direct Driven Generators for Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

    Författare :Sandra Eriksson; Hans Bernhoff; Mats Leijon; Jörgen Blennow; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; synchronous generator; wind power; vertical axis wind turbine; simulations; experiments; finite element method; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Wind power is a renewable energy source that is increasingly used all over the world. Most wind turbines have a horizontal axis of rotation but a few have a vertical axis of rotation. The concept presented in this thesis is a straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine with a direct driven cable-wound permanent magnet synchronous generator. LÄS MER
