  1. 1. Late Ordovician-Early Silurian facies development and stratigraphy of Jämtland, central Sweden

    Författare :Peter Dahlqvist; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biostratigraphy; Sedimentology; Stratigrafi; Stratigraphy; Paleontologi; Palaeontology; Jämtland; provenance; brachiopods; conodonts; Hirnantian; Silurian; Ordovician; glaciation; eustasy; Sedimentologi; sedimentology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on studies of Lower Palaeozoic sedimentary successions within the central Scandinavian Caledonides. These deposits have been transported by considerable nappe displacement (several kilometres), and are today relatively isolated from the nearest coeval outcrops (Dalarna 250 km, Oslo Region 350 km). 2. 2. Climate influenced deposition on a low latitude Sheinwoodian carbonate ramp, Gotland, Sweden

    Författare :Mikael Jacobsson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gotland; tempestites; cyclicity; orbital forcing; Sheinwoodian; Silurian; Wenlockian; Sedimentology; Sedimentologi;

    Sammanfattning : The Sheinwoodian succession of Gotland comprises the Högklint, Tofta and Hangvar Formations and most of the Slite Group. The succession consists of hierarchically ordered shallow marine depositional cycles, produced by orbitally forced climate changes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Early land plant spores from the Paleozoic of Sweden – taxonomy, stratigraphy and paleoenvironments

    Författare :Kristina Mehlqvist; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spores; early land plants; taxonomy; stratigraphy; biostratigraphy; Silurian;

    Sammanfattning : The Silurian through earliest Devonian, between ca 444 and 412 million years ago, was characterized by significant changes in global climate and environment. At that time, plants and animals had begun to expand the colonization of previous relatively desolate terrestrial landscape. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Silurian-Devonian vertebrates from the Northern hemisphere

    Författare :Henning Blom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Historical Geology and Paleontology; historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : Microscopic remains of early vertebrates such as scales and dermal hone fragments are common in Silurian andDevonian rocks world wide. Although they only represent a small part of the whole animal they still provideimportant information about the organism and its evolution, ecology and distribution. LÄS MER
