26. Fluorine-Free Phosphorus-Based Ionic Materials and Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Due to the successful commercialization of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), there is a growing interest in developing new battery materials with beneficial electrochemical properties. However, the uneven distribution of lithium resources and the low abundance of lithium in the earth crust are the main obstacles for further development and large-scale production of LIBs. LÄS MER
27. Thermodynamic Modelling of Electrolyte Solutions with Application to the Pulp and Paper Industry
Sammanfattning : A thermodynamic model for electrolyte solutions has been derived for binary and multicomponent solutions up to very high molalities. The model was extensively tested on 163 binary aqueous electrolyte systems up to very high molalities, and the results show that the model represents mean ionic activity coefficients and osmotic coefficients very accurately. 28. Precipitation of Kraft Lignin: Yield and Equilibrium
Sammanfattning : Kraft pulping is the dominant pulping process used in the world today. The material efficiency in modern kraft pulp mills is, however, only 40−55% and the final product consists mainly of cellulose. Recently, a novel process called “LignoBoost” has been introduced to separate lignin from kraft black liquor. LÄS MER
29. Model for activity coefficients and solubilities of Na2CO3 and Na2SO4 in high-temperature solutions
Sammanfattning : Scaling of sodium sulfate and sodium carbonate double salts has long been recognized as a problem in the black liquor evaporation process. These salts are abundant in black liquor and often tend to precipitate on heat transfer areas, thereby significantly decreasing the heat transfer efficiency. LÄS MER
30. Biobased carbon fibers from solution spun lignocellulosic precursors
Sammanfattning : Carbon fibers (CFs) have excellent mechanical properties and a low density, making themattractive as a reinforcing fiber in composites. The use of CFs is limited to high-end applications, since they are produced from an expensive fossil-based precursor via an energy-intensivemanufacturing process, explaining the need for cheaper CFs from renewables.
