11. Source analysis of multiplet earthquakes (two case studies in Iran)
Sammanfattning : Multiplet earthquakes are large earthquakes of similar magnitude which occur close in time in the same limited geographical area. They are not common but they considerably increase the potential hazard in the area in which they occur. LÄS MER
12. On the detection and management of urinary bladder carcinoma
Sammanfattning : Aims: To describe the diagnosis and clinical course of an unselected population-based cohort of patients with newly diagnosed transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. To assess if random bladder biopsies and the detection of concomitant carcinoma in situ have an impact on management and clinical outcome in bladder cancer patients. LÄS MER

14. Cost optimization of maintenance scheduling for wind turbines with aging components
Sammanfattning : A major part of the wind turbine operation cost is resulted from the maintenance of its components. This thesis deals with the theory, algorithms, and applications concerning minimization of the maintenance cost of wind power turbines, using mathematical modelling to find the optimal schedules of preventive maintenance activities for multi-component systems. 15. Seismicity and crustal structure in Iceland
Sammanfattning : The main goal of this Ph.D. thesis is to improve locations of earthquake hypocenters and to resolve heterogeneous crustal structure and its effects on travel times. The data and case studies are drawn from the Icelandic national SIL network and the temporary NICE project deploy-ment in the Tjörnes Fracture Zone. LÄS MER
