  1. 21. Geophysical targeting of Fe-oxide Cu-Au deposits in the northern fennoscandian sheild

    Författare :Alessandro Sandrin; Satu Mertanen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics; Exploration Geophysics; Prospekteringsgeofysik;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades Fe-Oxide Cu-Au deposits have been discovered and developed in Australia, South America and Canada. This class of mineral deposits is also present in northern Sweden and thus represents a potential target for improving the mineral production of the country. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Natural and Controlled Source Magnetotelluric Data Processing and Modeling

    Författare :Chunling Shan; Thomas Kalscheuer; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Thorkild Rasmussen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Airborne Electromagnetic Method; Radio Magnetotellurics; Controlled Source Magnetotellurics; Electrical Resistivity Tomography; Moving Magnetotellurics; 2D inversion; 3D inversion;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, four studies using different geophysical electromagnetic methods are presented. In the first study dealing with airborne measurements, the noise response due to the rotation of the aircraft and the aircraft itself as a metallic conductive body on the Earth's electromagnetic response in very low frequency and low frequency band was investigated. 3. 23. 2D and 3D Seismic Surveying at the CO2SINK Project Site, Ketzin, Germany: The Potential for Imaging the Shallow Subsurface

    Författare :Sawasdee Yordkayhun; Christopher Juhlin; Charlotte Krawczyk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inversion; Traveltime tomography; 3D seismic surveys; Seismic velocity; Seismic source; CO2SINK project; Geophysics; Geofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Seismic traveltime inversion, traveltime tomography and seismic reflection techniques have been applied for two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) data acquired in conjunction with site characterization and monitoring aspects at a carbon dioxide (CO2) geological storage site at Ketzin, Germany (the CO2SINK project). Conventional seismic methods that focused on investigating the CO2 storage and caprock formations showed a poor or no image of the upper 150 m. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Environmental and hydrogeological geophysics with applications in Thailand, Laos, and Sweden

    Författare :Kamhaeng Wattanasen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geophysics; Tillämpad geofysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents applications of geophysical methods in the fields of environment and hydrogeology. In relation to environmental problems, two different geophysical surveys have been carried out; one to study an arsenic contaminated area in the southern Thailand (paper I) and a second to locate shallow faults in Quaternary sediments in an area around the Ongkharak Nuclear Research Centre, central Thailand (paper II). 5. 25. Efficient Electromagnetic Induction Modelling : Adaptive mesh optimisation, advanced boundary methods and iterative solution techniques

    Författare :Laura M. Buntin; Thomas Kalscheuer; Gunilla Kreiss; Zhengyong Ren; Klaus Spitzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied geophysics; Electromagnetic theory; Numerical Modelling; Geo-Electromagnetics; Magnetotellurics; Controlled-source electromagnetics; Goal-oriented adaptive mesh refinement; Perfectly-matched layers; Iterative solution methods; Preconditioning; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Forward modelling of electromagnetic induction data simulates the electric and magnetic fields within a computational domain for a given distribution of electromagnetic material properties and a given source of the electromagnetic field. The quantities of interest are the fields at receiver locations at the Earth's surface. LÄS MER
