16. Hydrodynamic Modelling of Wave Power using Electrical Equivalent Circuit Theory
Sammanfattning : Ocean wave energy can be harnessed and converted into electric energy nowadays. This provides a possibility for populations that live on islands or along coastlines to utilize the renewable and safe power produced by ocean waves. LÄS MER
17. Void formation and transport in manufacturing of polymer composites
Sammanfattning : In this thesis void formation and removal during the Resin Transfer Moulding process are considered. The problem is examined by doing real moulding as well as mouldings under microscope, model experiment and analytical computations. The materials utilised are in most cases glass fibre reinforcements and vinylester resins. LÄS MER
18. Silicone Rubber Insulators: Impacts of Material Formulation in Coastal Environment
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with influences of material formulation on the performance of silicone rubber high voltage insulators in a coastal environment. Samples and insulators with known differences in material compositions have been used in this task. In the first step, a screening test with cylindrical samples was initiated. LÄS MER
19. Electrostatic Interactions in Complex Liquids : A Thermodynamic Analysis Based on the Poisson-Boltzmann Equation and the Flexible Surface Model
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to analyse physico-chemical properties of some complex liquids using the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) cell model; to extend the theory to cover bilayer systems with complex global geometry; finally to apply this new extended model to such bilayer systems. The PB cell model provides a practical tool to examine counterion association and phase behaviour for structures of simple geometries; cylindrical and spherical. LÄS MER
20. Computational Studies of Magnetohydrodynamic Stability for Reversed-Field Pinches and Tokamaks
Sammanfattning : This work describes the ideal & resistive Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability properties of Tokamak and Reversed-Field Pinch (RFP) plasmas. The first four papers are concerned with the cylindrical approximation of RFPs and tokamaks whereas the final two papers deal with a fully toroidal description. LÄS MER
