  1. 1. Automotive Remanufacturing in a Changing Market : Challenges and Opportunities in a market with a growing share of electric cars

    Författare :Robert Casper; Erik Sundin; Mats Björkman; Amir Rashid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Circular Economy; Remanufacturing Process Challenges and Improvements; Process Efficiency; Automotive Part Remanufacturing and Reuse; Internal Combustion Engines ICE ; Battery Electric Vehicles BEV ; Cirkulär Ekonomi; Återtillverkning; Återtillverkningsprocesser; Processeffektivitet; Bilindustri; Förbränningsmotorer; Elbilar; Elektrifiering;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis deals with closed-loop supply chains, which include remanufacturing. Remanufacturing can be described as an industrial process to bring back a used good into an “as-good-as-new” condition. Furthermore, focus is put on one of the largest global industry sectors: the automotive industry. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Learning from assessments of resource efficiency measures and their impact on resource use and the environment - Based on a case of additive manufacturing and a review of assessment studies

    Författare :Daniel Böckin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; circular economy; repair; 3D-printing; active products; automotive; resource efficiency; reuse; additive manufacturing; remanufacturing; life cycle assessment;

    Sammanfattning : Resource efficiency measures have the potential to reduce the environmental and resource impacts of the current linear economy by decreasing the physical flows of material and energy associated with producing and using products and services. In order to investigate this potential, there is a need for assessments from a systems perspective, which for example enables the identification of possible trade-offs between different measures and aspects of resource efficiency depending on the product characteristics. 3. 3. GETTING MORE OUT OF THE AFTERLIFE

    Författare :Derek Diener; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MFA; remanufacturing; steel; company-level; Product EoL management; material efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Material intensity related to product consumption has become part of societal discourse and reducing it has become a priority of some industrial actors. Focusing on product end-of-life (EoL) is one approach that many companies and research entities have taken to identify and enact material intensity reductions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Adaptive Design for Circular Business Models in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry

    Författare :Thomas Nyström; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :Circular Business Models; Product Service System; Business and Design Logic; Circular Economy; Design for Circular Business Models;

    Sammanfattning : The vision of a circular economy (CE) promises both profitability and eco-sustainability to industries, and can, from a material and energy resource flow perspective, be operationalized by combining three business and design strategies: closing loops; narrowing and slowing down resource flows by material recycling, improving resource efficiency; and by extending product life by reuse, upgrades and remanufacturing. These three strategies are straightforward ways for industries to radically reduce their use of virgin resources. LÄS MER
