16. Photoelectron spectroscopy on strongly correlated systems
Sammanfattning : This work presents photoelectron spectroscopy data on somestrongly correlated systems. The electronic structure of the3dtransition metal oxides NiO and CoO have been studiedwith angle resolved and resonant photoemission. In the lattercase, both NiO and CoO show strong resonance effects at themetal absorption edges. LÄS MER
17. Quantum Materials Probed by Light and Electron Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : As new technologies rely heavily on materials’ properties, the quest for novel tunable electronic and magnetic materials occupies a large part of nowadays research efforts. Most promising materials are quantum materials, which exhibit a wide range of exotic electronic and magnetic phenomena and often show a great sensitivity to external perturbations such as temperature, pressure or chemical doping. 18. Revealing Electronic Structures of 2D Molecular Crystals and Correlating Them with Optoelectronic Properties
Sammanfattning : Electronic band structure serves as the foundation for understanding the physics of semiconductors. The electronic band structure of inorganic semiconductors has been well understood based on ideal single crystal samples, thus actually laid the foundation for the prospering development of inorganic semiconductor devices. 19. Evaluation of NMR Knight shifts in metallic nanoparticles and topological matter
Sammanfattning : Elucidating the surface electron states of transition metal compounds is of primary importance in main heterogeneous catalytic processes, such as the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions. Key property in all these processes is the position of the energy of the d-band center relative to the Fermi-level of the catalyst; it must be shifted close to the Fermi level to achieve balance between adsorption and desorption of the catalyst and the adsorbate. 20. Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Photoelectron Spectroscopy Studies of Si(111) and Ge(111) Surfaces : Clean and Modified by H or Sn Atoms
Sammanfattning : The (111) surfaces of Si and Ge were studied by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) that are complementary techniques used to obtain structural and electronic properties of surfaces. The (111) surfaces have been of great interest because of the complex reconstructions formed by annealing. LÄS MER
