  1. 11. Chemical perspectives on aerosol-cloud interactions in the High Arctic

    Författare :Karolina Siegel; Claudia Mohr; Annica M. L. Ekman; Ilona Riipinen; Ryan Sullivan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aerosol chemical composition; DMS oxidation; FIGAERO-CIMS; κ-Köhler theory; High Arctic; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi;

    Sammanfattning : Atmospheric aerosol particles have important yet highly uncertain impacts on the Earth’s climate, with the largest uncertainties residing in the interactions between aerosols and clouds. The extent to which aerosols act as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) depends on the chemical composition and size of the particles. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Tracing pathways in the ocean circulation : A temperature and salinity perspective

    Författare :Sara Berglund; Kristofer Döös; Jonas Nycander; Göran Broström; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lagrangian trajectories; Climate modelling; Atlantic Ocean; Southern Ocean; Ocean circulation; heat; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : The ocean circulation plays an essential role in our climate system. It redistributes heat, salt, carbon and other tracers across the globe, making the climate of Earth more moderate. This thesis targets density differences that are driving the ocean circulation. These differences are caused by changes in temperature and salinity. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Designing for added pedagogical value : A design-based research study of teachers’ educational design with ICT

    Författare :Jörgen Holmberg; Uno Fors; Göran Fransson; Jo Tondeur; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; added pedagogical value; design-based research; design framework; educational design; educational design research; EFL; ICT; teacher practice; TPACK; Information Society; informationssamhället; Innovative Learning;

    Sammanfattning : In an increasingly digitized world teachers are expected to take on the role of educational designers and use ICT to design in ways that add pedagogical value to teaching and learning. This thesis adopts a design-based research (DBR) approach to: (a) explore and contribute to the educational design processes of teachers of English as a foreign language in their efforts to use ICT for added pedagogical value, (b) examine how ICT is used in educational designs to create/contribute to what the teachers and students describe as added value and (c) explore, problematize and refine DBR as a research approach. 5. 15. Peer Review Practices of L2 Doctoral Students in the Natural Sciences

    Författare :Karyn Sandström; Eva Lindgren; Isa Janke; Christiane Donahue; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; peer review; second language writing; genre; research articles; discourse communities; natural sciences; doctoral students; mediation; language teaching and learning; språkdidaktik; engelska; English;

    Sammanfattning : Writing research articles in English is a common requirement in doctoral studies in the natural sciences; however, learning to write the research article genre is challenging, particularly in a foreign language (L2). A potential resource for learning the RA genre is giving and receiving peer review. LÄS MER
