16. Strain and Charge Transport in InAsP-InP and InP-InAs Core-Shell Nanowires
Sammanfattning : The mechanical, optical, and electrical properties of III-V semiconductor heterostructures are investigated in thisthesis. The semiconductor materials are grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy, yielding wire shaped crystals(nanowires) having a length of ~ 1 μm and diameter of ~ 100 nm. LÄS MER
17. Selective Epitaxy of Indium Phosphide and Heteroepitaxy of Indium Phosphide on Silicon for Monolithic Integration
Sammanfattning : A densely and monolithically integrated photonic chip on indium phosphide is greatly in need for data transmission but the present day’s level of integration in InP is very low. Silicon enjoys a unique position among all the semiconductors in its level of integration. LÄS MER
18. Charge dynamics and electronic structure of pi-conjugated systems
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this theses deals with the electronic properties of 1rconjugated molecular systems. Charge dynamics has been studied in order to get a better understanding of the physical processes behind charge transport in these materials, intended to be used in organic molecular electronic devices. 19. Correlation Effects in Nanostructures
Sammanfattning : In this Ph.D. thesis I present the background and providefurther details to the work presented in the appended papers. The background consists of brief overviews of Kondo physics, Luttinger liquid theory, and conformal field theory. LÄS MER
20. Nanoscale Crystal Growth: The Importance of Interfaces and Phase Boundaries Kristallväxt på Nanometer Skala: Vikten av Ytor och Gränser
Sammanfattning : Surfaces and interfaces have a special significance to nanotechnology because the surface/volume ratio of nanomaterials is larger than for bulk materials. Therefore, interfaces of nanomaterials are usually more important to the properties of nanomaterials than for larger scale materials. LÄS MER
