16. Enzyme Printed Fabrics : Bio‐functionalisation of Synthetic Textiles by Digital Inkjet Printing
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the possibilities of printing enzymes using resource-efficient technologies to promote the binding of other proteins and biomaterials on synthetic textiles. This strategy can be used to develop advanced textiles for applications, for example, in antimicrobial, drug delivery and biosensing. LÄS MER
17. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts
Sammanfattning : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. LÄS MER
18. Imaging chemiluminescence applied to oxidation of rubber materials and polyamide
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the heterogeneous nature of thermal oxidationof polymer materials have been investigated by imagingchemiluminescence (KL). The issues of oxidation depth profilesand physical spreading of oxidation in rubbers materials andpolyamide have been addressed. LÄS MER
19. Studies of Dielectric Relaxation in Solid Polymers and Composites
Sammanfattning : Non-linear characteristics of homogeneous solid polymers and solid polymer-based composites have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. In particular experimental studies of non-linear dielectric response of six homogeneous solid polymeric materials and the influence of the composition on the properties of solid polymer-based composites with high dielectric permittivities have been carried out and a theoretical study of dipole-dipole interaction in solids based on a formulation due to P. 20. Oxidation of stressed polymers as studied by chemiluminescence
Sammanfattning : Since the use of chemiluminescence (CL) is known to be avery sensitive technique for studying oxidation of polymers, its potential as a tool for studying the oxidation of stressedpolymers is thoroughly investigated in this thesis. A number ofearlier reports on stress induced chemiluminescence (SCL) showthat SCL has potential for elucidating polymer stressreactions. LÄS MER
