  1. 1. Luminescent textiles using biobased products : A bioinspired approach

    Författare :Sweta Iyer; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioinspired; biobased; bioluminescent; photoluminescent; textile; luminous bacteria; enzymes; immobilization; plasma; riboflavin; flavin mononucleotide; sustainable; digital printing; functionalization; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : Nature has designed a few biobased molecules that are responsible for bioluminescence and photoluminescence in some living species. In this thesis, the potential use of luminescence phenomena existing in nature toward the attainment of luminescent textiles was explored. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Manufacturing Decisions and A Multi-Tier Supply Location Decision-Support Model for Enhancing Sustainability in Textile and Clothing Supply Chains

    Författare :Petchprakai Sirilertsuwan; Lantz Björn; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; carbon emissions; global supply chain network design; location decisions; manufacturing decisions; supplier selection; supply chain performance measurement; sustainable supply chain management; total cost calculation; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : A recent trend towards sustainability has led to increases in various sustainable practices, but sustainability has still not been fully implemented into manufacturing and supply location decisions. A fragmented product supply chain, which has various locations and multi-tier suppliers, leads to difficulties in traceability to ensure the supply chain has business, environmental, and social/socio-economic sustainability, known as the triple bottom line (TBL). Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Eco-designed functionalization of polyester fabric

    Författare :Tove Agnhage; Guido Sonnemann; Isabelle Vroman; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Eco-design; Life cycle assessment; Madder; Anthraquinone; Bioactive; Multifunctional; Polyester; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : There is an increased awareness of the textile dyeing and finishing sector’s high impact on the environment due to high water consumption, polluted wastewater, and inefficient use of energy. To reduce environmental impacts, researchers propose the use of dyes from natural sources. LÄS MER
