  1. 1. Demand for Extinguishing Media in Manual Fire Fighting

    Författare :Stefan Särdqvist; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fire fighting; Fire brigade; fire suppression; extinguishing agents; extinction; Technological sciences; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Risk analysis and intervention planning are important in fire prevention and risk management strategies. This study has shown that it is possible to use fire safety engineering models to estimate the development of fires on a realistic scale, and the corresponding requirement for extinguishing media. 2. 2. Evaluation and Mitigation of Industrial Fire Hazards

    Författare :Petra Andersson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; Effect of fires; Accidental release; Water mist; Halon replacement; Industrial Fire Hazards; Human burns; Smoke detektion;

    Sammanfattning : A tool suitable for conducting industrial fire and explosion hazard analysis is presented, together with an identification of weak links in the hazard evaluation chain. For some of the weak links additional research has been carried out. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Epidemiology and statistical modeling in burn injuries

    Författare :Homayoun Sadeghi Bazargani; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Burn injuries;

    Sammanfattning : An important issue in assessing the epidemiology of injuries, including burns, is the investigation of appropriate methodologies and statistical modeling techniques to study injuries in an efficient and trustworthy manner. The overall aim of this thesis is to analyze epidemiological patterns and assess the appropriateness of supervised statistical models to investigate burn risks and patterns. LÄS MER
