  1. 1. Regulation of Ovarian Aromatase: Studies by Aromatase Assays in vitro and in vivo

    Författare :Dmitrijus Kirilovas; Mats Brännström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics and gynaecology; aromatase; human; granulosa cells; 11C-vorozole; active site; allosteric configuration; in vitro; in vivo; PET; androgens; rat; estrous cycle.; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and women s diseases; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; obstetrik och gynekologi;

    Sammanfattning : An in vitro method was developed for measuring aromatase, based on binding of competitive aromatase inhibitor [11C]vorozole to the active site of the enzyme. [11C]Vorozole displayed high, specific binding in vitro to human placenta and human granulosa cells (GC), both fresh and frozen/thawed cells, provided correct procedures were used. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computational Studies of Structures and Binding Properties of Protein-Ligand Complexes

    Författare :Xu Wang; Yaoquan Tu; Lennart Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins are dynamic structural entities that are involved in many biophysical processes through molecular interactions with their ligands. Protein-ligand interactions are of fundamental importance for computer-aided drug discovery. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molecular dissection of established and proposed members of the Op18/Stathmin family of tubulin binding proteins

    Författare :Kristoffer Brännström; Martin Gullberg; Fredrik Ivars; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Op18 Stathmin; Sm16; tubulin; microtubule; schistosoma mansoni; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : My initial aim was a functional analysis of the conserved Op18/stathmin family of microtubule-regulators, which includes the ubiquitous cytosolic Op18 protein and the neural membrane-attached RB3 and SCG10 proteins. The solved X-ray structure has shown that these proteins form a complex with tubulin -heterodimers via two imperfect helical repeats, which result in two head-to-tail aligned heterodimers in a tandem-tubulin complex.
