3. Signaling and Adhesive Mechanisms in Acute Pancreatitis
Sammanfattning : Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory disease with variable severity ranging from mild interstitial edematous to severe necrotizing disease. The overall mortality rate of AP is 8-9%. Specific treatment of AP is lacking which is partly related to an incomplete understanding of the basic pathophysiology behind the disease. LÄS MER
4. Factors influencing the inflammatory response and secondary infection in rat pancreatitis
Sammanfattning : A rat~model for bile-induced acute pancreatitis is used throughout the experiments. The model, which is well known, mimics the assumed events leading to biliary pancreatitis. The mortality from acute pancreatitis with this model was 23-33% and 73% of all deaths occurred within the first 24 hours. LÄS MER
