  1. 1. EMBRYONIC GLIA AND FOREBRAIN NEUROGENESIS; in vitro generation and differentiation of telencephalic neurons

    Författare :Charlotta Skogh; Neurobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; beta tubulin III; GFAP; RC2; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurofysiologi; DARPP-32; retinoic acid; serum; EGF; co-culture; cell culture; striatum; LGE; progenitor; precursor; radial glia; region specific; development; CNS; mouse; human; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The current thesis is aimed to increase our understanding of the generation and differentiation of telencephalic neurons, with emphasis on the role of glial cells in these processes. Using in vitro methods we have studied the role of glial cells in neurogenesis, inheritance of genetic regional specification, and influence on differentiation of neurons. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Studies on Variability in Olanzapine Disposition

    Författare :Elisabeth Skogh; Staffan Hägg; Marja Liisa Dahl; Markus Heilig; Lena Flyckt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders are chronic conditions with a significant impact on many functions. Positive, negative, cognitive and motor symptoms appear in different degrees and constellations. Antipsychotics are of fundamental importance to reduce symptoms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Teknikens värld- flickors värld: : en studie av yngre flickors möte med teknik i hem och skola

    Författare :Inga-Britt Skogh; Sverker Lindbladh; Robert Höghielm; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Technology; technical training; girls; comulsive comprehensive school; attitude; behaviour; logic of events; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses on our society's great need of technical competence. Even though the prospects for the future are very good, research shows that teenaged girls often express a negative attitude towards technology. The question is whether girls in the earlier school years also express a negative attitude towards technology. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of Substance P 1–7 Related Peptides and Peptidomimetics : Targeting Neuropathic Pain

    Författare :Anna Skogh; Anja Sandström; Christian Sköld; Rebecca Fransson; Philip Thompson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Substance P 1–7; Peptidomimetics; Solid-phase Peptide Synthesis SPPS ; Palladium catalysis; Carbonylation; Imidazole; Bioisostere; Neuropathic pain; Allodynia; Structure-activity relationships; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : The neuropeptide substance P 1–7 (SP1–7, H-Arg1-Pro2-Lys3-Pro4-Gln5-Gln6-Phe7-OH) and its amidated analogue SP1–7 amide, have displayed intriguing effects in experimental models for neuropathic pain acting on a specific, yet unknown SP1–7 target. The aim of this thesis was to design and synthesise SP1–7 related peptides and peptidomimetics, to be used as research tools to study the SP1–7 system, and to serve as drug leads in the neuropathic pain area.
